Pastor Samuel Luk was born and raised in Hong Kong. He and his family of four came to the United States in 1992 as immigrant. Samuel had been in the corporate travel management for almost thirteen year before his family makes this big move in their lives. He joined American Express Travel Related Services upon his second month arrival into United States and worked there until God called him into full time ministry in 2001. He finished his Master of Divinity requirements at Overseas Theological Seminary in San Jose, California in May of 2004. He then went back to Hong Kong to serve as pastoral intern at Yan Fook Church. Samuel started serving as pastor the same year in October. He has been married to Mrs. Denise Luk since March of 1979. From that happy union, God has given them one son, Marco in 1983 and one daughter Erica in 1990. Pastor Samuel enjoys reading, talking and sharing with people, especially during those wonderful coffee hours. He always enjoy that mug of coffee while sharing and talking with friends. He never gets bored at that for over three and a half decade.

About Our Pastor

Vision sharing from PastorSamuel in 2004:

  1. Faithful in Bible teaching; building up Christ-like character and spiritual enrichment of the believers are our focuses of inner ministries. It is not the quantity of ministries that the believers involved, but how much will the believers grow and experience God in serving Him and people. Life is a long term building project, works are the means, building up one another and be His witness of Grace is the end. Before the Church grows big, we must grow deep.
  2. Relationship is the key. Building of strong relationship with one another in Christ is not only the cell group leaders’ responsibility, nor only the Caring ministry’s responsibility. Caring should be our church culture. To build a strong inward relationship first, then we can expand it out.
  3. Make our lives to be the witness of Christ. This Church as His Body is the channel of the Gospel that being proclaimed and spread out. May our lives glorify His Holy Name and impact others in the community. WE don’t just talk the Walk, but we Walk the talk.
  4. Church is a cross-cultures organism. We should create “space” for our next generation to grow. We are not a Church only for Chinese, but also a Church for all other English speaking people. We all need to learn together in His Grace, to face the necessary challenges with humility, and embrace one another with respect.
